STATEMENT FROM ASSEMBLYMAN ERRIGO

Gov. George Pataki delivered good news to New Yorkers this afternoon with his 12th annual “State of the State” address. I applaud him for his efforts to set the state on a positive path towards success.

Among the goals he established for 2006 are property tax reform, passage of civil confinement legislation as well as Megan’s Law enhancements, an accelerated Empire Zone process, tax credits for heating fuel, income tax cuts, eliminations of the estate tax and marriage penalty, and initiatives to help businesses contain costs. New York is a better place as a result of Gov. Pataki’s leadership and the efforts of all my colleagues in the State’s Legislature.

The governor set forth a strong ambitious agenda for his last year in office and I’m proud to be helping him achieve these goals. It is my hope that the positive tone that was set forth in the Governor’s speech will lead toward a productive 2006 legislative session.
