ERRIGO NOTES DEADLINE NEAR FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM
FOR CORRECTIONS OFFICER

     Assemblyman Joseph Errigo (R, C-Conesus) is reminding his constituents today, that the deadline for filing for the Department of Civil Service corrections officers to be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005. The filing deadline for this examination is Monday, January 31, 2005.

     According to Assemblyman Errigo, the salary for a corrections officer trainee is $28,444 per year. This salary increases to $30, 043 after six months. After successful completion of the yearlong correction officer traineeship the salary increases to $34,742.

     Assemblyman Errigo notes that this is an excellent opportunity for those men and women who wish to begin an exciting career in law enforcement. "New York State needs more professional men and women to work in the corrections field. I urge those who are interested in this career field to take this exam."
