ERRIGO REMINDS CONSTITUENTS TO REMEMBER AND HONOR VETERANS
Assemblyman Joseph Errigo (R-Conesus) reminded constituents today
that Veterans Day is Friday, November 11th.
"Veterans Day has long been one of remembrance and an occasion
to thank those heroes we sometimes overlook." Errigo noted,
After four years of conflict the Allies and Germans signed the
armistice on November 11, 1918 which ended World War I. Armistice Day
officially became a holiday in the United States in 1926 and a national
holiday 12 years later. On June 1, 1954 the designation was changed to
Veterans Day to honor all U.S. veterans.
"I encourage people, not only of New York State but the entire
country, to join with me in honoring our nation's veterans today and every
day," Errigo said. "I am thankful to all those servicemen and servicewomen
who have served this great nation in our time of need."
If you ever need assistance please contact Assemblyman Errigo's
district office at 3045 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY 14467, or call
(585) 334-5210.
